Scenic Belgium

We live in the town of Tervuren on the outskirts of Brussels. It has many small shops and a traditional town square. There are markets on Fridays and occasional flower and plant markets at the weekend.

Tervuren is also famous for the Africa Museum which houses many artefacts.

We live not far from the forest which surrounds Brussels.

There are national windmill days in both Holland and Belgium. Unfortunately it was raining rather a lot when I found my first Belgian windmill so there are a couple of rain spots spoiling this image. Various other old mills were open on the same weekend including a tidal powered grain mill at Rupelmonde.

The nearby university town of Leuven is also picturesque with the old university and city hall buildings covered in statues and also a long established botanical garden which houses a small cactus collection.
